Although the issue of occupancy is somewhat ambiguous in this regard, in an effort to address the City's concerns, Downtown Harley proposes the following solution: The storage and service lounge areas, presently designated as S -1 and M occupancies, respectively, would be reclassified as S -3. Atypical to a standard S -3 occupancy, Downtown Harley has agreed not to operate motorcycles / engines in these areas. Additionally, Downtown Harley proposes to provide a carbon monoxide detector in this area and install a fire damper in one duct that penetrates the wall into the showroom. These areas already contain one -hour separations to other occupancies, and therefore, will not require additional construction in that regard. In consideration of these use restrictions and proposed modifications, the existing ventilation system should satisfy the City requirements. Upon receipt of the City's approval of this plan, we will proceed forward with the proposed improvements. Please call with any questions or comments.
