ORDINANCE NO.42 9
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Tukwila, Washington
ratifying and acknowledging the past and pre-
sent existence of the Tukwila Police Department in
establishing the positions of all City of Tukwila
law enforcement officers.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The past, present and future existence of
the City of Tukwila. Police Department is hereby acknowledged and
ratified.
Section 2. The term "Law Enforcement Officer" and "City
Police Officer" shall cover all such regular, full time personnel
of the City of Tukwila Police Department who have been appointed
to offices, positions, or ranks of the City of Tukwila Police
Department which are herewith expressly created, to wit:
Chief of Police
Sargents
Patrolman No. 1
Patrolman No. 2
Patrolman No. 3
Patrolman No. 4
Patrolman No. 5
Patrolman No. 6
Patrolman No. 7
Section 3. Upon the passage, approval and publication
of this Ordinance, the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila shall
cause a certified copy thereof to be mailed to the Director,
State of Washington, Public Employees Retirement System, along
with a correct list of the names of each City of Tukwila Police
Officer filling one of the City of Tukwila Law Enforcement posi-
tions as created in Section 2 of this Ordinance to comply with the
provisions of Chapter 41.26 of the Revised Code of Washington.
Section 4. A public emergency necessitating the pro-
tection of public health, safety, property and peace is herewith
declared, and upon the passage of this Ordinance by a majority
plus one of the whole membership of the Tukwila City Council, the
terms of this Ordinance shall immediately become effective.
