AC (A5 <br />INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF TUKWILA AND THE TUKWILA SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />THIS INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT "Agreement is made and entered into pursuant <br />to the interlocal Cooperation Act, Chapter 39 34 of the Revised Code of Washington, by <br />and between the City of Tukwila "City and the Tukwila School Distnct "District <br />(collectively referred to as "the parties for the integration of city- funded human services <br />in the Tukwila School Distnct buildings, benefiting children and families of the Distnct. <br />WHEREAS, the parties share a common goal to support the educational and other needs <br />of students and families within the city; and <br />WHEREAS, the parties desire to make supportive human services accessible to students <br />and their families and <br />WHEREAS, an agreement identifying the use of space and communication strategies to <br />support the provision of human services within the District would clarify the parties' <br />respective roles and responsibilities <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the terms and provisions herein, it is agreed by <br />and between the City of Tukwila and the Tukwila School Distnct as follows <br />1 Statement of Purpose. The purpose of this Agreement is to facilitate <br />integration of city- funded human services into Tukwila School Distract <br />buildings For purposes of this Agreement, "human services" includes health <br />related services, counseling, ESL and literacy services and social work. <br />2. Intention of Human Services Providers "Providers to Deliver Services in <br />Distnct Buildings. Starting in 2006, Providers that intend to provide services <br />in District buildings must meet with the District's Student Services Director <br />"Director pnor to the fiscal year in which the services are to be provided. <br />The Provider will discuss with the Director the nature of the services to be <br />provided, the topics, means, and frequency of communications between the <br />Provider and the District, the Provider's space needs, and other relevant <br />topics If the District is unable to provide the space the Provider requests, the <br />Provider must modify the proposal submitted to the City to indicate where <br />service delivery will take place <br />3 Support Letter Required. Starting in 2006, Providers that intend to provide <br />services in Distnct buildings must include a support letter signed by the <br />Student Services Director or his /her designee. The City shall require that the <br />Providers submit the support letter along with the Request for Proposal <br />application <br />4 Communication with District building staff.
