Public Hearing Minutes <br />April 23„ 2015 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Planning Commission recommended revisions: <br />Introduction — Revisions: <br />• First sentence, insert `native people and settlers' after the word `those' <br />• Second sentence, replace, `commercial center' with `community' <br />• Third sentence replace `stubbornly' with `diligently' or `committed' staff will determine <br />• Second paragraph, in the underlined section, add a middle sentence, `We now have a <br />diversity of languages and nationalities that we didn't have 20 years ago.' <br />What is a Comprehensive Plan? — Revision: <br />• Second paragraph, replace the word `basis' with `guide' <br />What's In the Plan? — Revisions: <br />Next to last paragraph, first sentence, replace `and goals' `with goals' <br />Under Plan Objectives, Next to last paragraph, add language to the end of the sentence, <br />`While maintaining flexibility to adjust to changing circumstances' <br />Under Plan Objectives, third sentence, starting after the word `design' replace the <br />remainder of the sentence to read, `for the revitalization of residential neighborhoods and <br />development of vibrant centers of economic life.' <br />Page 4 — Revisions: <br />• Under number 2, after the word Boulevard add, `economically and residentially' (Staff <br />will check on language for revised verbiage to replace the word `corridors') <br />• Under number 3, after the word `uses' add, `in our manufacturing industrial center' <br />• Under number 4, after the word `to' add, the word `further' <br />• Mid page, under These include the required GMA elements:, move `Shoreline' to the <br />Landuse section <br />• Last paragraph, staff revise the language in the third sentence so is it more <br />understandable <br />Page 6 — Revision: <br />• Under How to build a local Comprehensive Plan, replace the word `citizen' with the <br />word `community' <br />Page 7 — Revision: <br />• Last paragraph, first sentence, strike the words `striven to reach' with the word `reached' <br />Pages 5, 8, and 9 — No Revisions <br />MOTION <br />Commissioner Mann made a motion to adopt the Introduction section of the Comprehensive Plan <br />as amended by the Planning Commission and forward it to the City Council for review. <br />Commissioner Strander seconded the motions.
