<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />July 13, 2017 <br />6:30pm-8:00pm <br /> <br />Members Present: Jerry Thornton, Kim Karns, John Lindsay, Jan Bolerjack <br />Staff Present: Chris Partman, Chief Villa <br />Guest: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Minutes for 6/8/17 meeting approved as amended <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Chief’s update <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Body cameras have been to committee and a Council as a Whole meeting, <br />th <br />hopefully will be approved Monday, July 17. <br /> <br /> <br />This is the Axon System which includes in car cameras, body cameras <br />and Tasers <br /> <br /> <br />Video will be stored in the cloud rather than in on-site servers <br /> <br /> <br />Contract will be $100,000/year <br /> <br /> <br />Seizure funds will help defray initial equipment costs. <br /> <br /> <br />The unknown is how the body cameras will change the number of <br />public records requests. <br /> <br /> <br />There will also be software to assist with blurring out faces for <br />privacy, such as juveniles. <br /> <br /> <br />Also on Monday the Criminal Trespass for parks or other City property will go <br />before Council. <br /> <br /> <br />This will allow officers to trespass people from public property, where <br />they cannot do anything about it right now. <br /> <br /> <br />The intent is to use this to prevent criminal behavior on public <br />property. <br /> <br /> <br />Each park/City Property will be a separate trespass warning/order <br /> <br /> <br />DLR has been selected for the architect for the new facilities. <br /> <br /> <br />Next COPCAB meeting will be to attend the Public Safety Plan Open <br />House. <br />th <br /> <br />1.August 10 5:30 -7:30pm <br />th <br /> <br />2.Fire Station 54, 4237 S 144 St <br /> <br />3.Free food <br /> <br /> <br />Next meeting the Chief will be attending, and competing in the World Police <br />Games in Los Angeles. Several Officers will attend and compete. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
