City of Tukwila <br />Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Transportation and Infrastructure Committee <br />FROM: Henry Hash, Public Works Director /',4 <br />BY: Ryan Larson, Senior Program Manager <br />CC: Mayor Ekberg <br />DATE: February 23, 2018 <br />SUBJECT: 53rd Ave South (S 137th St — S 144th St) <br />Project No. 99110301, Contract No. 15-159 <br />Supplemental Agreement No. 4 for Construction Management Services <br />ISSUE <br />Execute Supplemental Agreement No. 4 with KPG, Inc. to provide construction management services for the 53rd <br />Ave. S. project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The 53rd Avenue South Project will construct roadway, drainage, sidewalks, illumination, water and sewer upgrades, <br />and undergrounding of overhead utilities between South 137th Street and South 144th Street. Construction bids were <br />opened on February 13, 2018. A construction contract is anticipated to be awarded soon. <br />DISCUSSION <br />KPG's Consultant Agreement No. 15-159 consists of developing project plans, specifications, and cost estimates for <br />the 53rd Ave S Project. KPG was selected to also provide construction management services as an optional <br />supplement to the design contract. KPG completed the design of the project and therefore are the most knowlegable <br />about the project. Staff have been satisfied with work on this project as well as other projects they have provided <br />construction management on. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />KPG has prepared the attached contract, scope of work, and fee estimate to provide the necessary construction <br />management services for the 53rd Ave. S. project.
