<br /> <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />March 21, 2018 5:00 p.m. Tukwila Community Center <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1.Call to Order:Chair Cynthia called the meeting to order at 5:02pm <br /> <br /> Chesak <br /> <br />2.Attendance: <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioners – Trish Gilmore, Cynthia Chesak, Alex Villella, Helen Enguerra, Sheila Coppola, Daniel <br />Humkey and Yuriko Rollins <br />Guests: Mia Navarro, City of Tukwila Community Engagement Manager, Vicky Carlson, City of <br />Tukwila Finance Department <br />Staff – Tracy Gallaway <br /> <br /> <br />3.Approval of Agenda: Sheila Coppola moved to accept the agenda. Trish Gilmore seconded the <br /> <br />motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />4.Approval of Minutes: Alex Villella moved to approve the minutes of February 10, 2018. Sheila <br /> <br />Coppola seconded the motion. <br /> <br />5.Special Presentation – City of Tukwila Strategic Plan and 2019-2020 Budget – Mia Navarro, <br /> <br />Community Engagement Manager <br />Handouts – 2019-2020 Budget & Strategic Plan Check-In <br />2012 Strategic Plan page 6 – Community Vision and City Mission <br />Description of the Priority Based Budget process. Goals are to add transparency to the process <br />and ensures that high priority programs are properly funded. <br />Mia will send the 2012 Strategic Plan document to Tracy and she will pass on to the TAC members. <br />There will be a public meeting held at Thorndyke Elementary on April 21 st 10am-12:30pm. <br />Commission members are urged to attend and pass on the meeting notice to other community <br />members. <br /> <br /> <br />6.Unfinished Business <br /> <br />a.Tukwila Arts Commission Logo – Alex Villella motioned to accept C3 for the colored logo, <br /> <br />Helen Enguerra <br />b.Community Connections – Cynthia Chesak and Sheila Coppola passed on hard copies of <br /> <br />lists they had prepared. Helen Enguerra and Yuriko Rollins had previously emailed lists. <br />Tracy will pass all information on to the Outreach subcommittee which will compile <br />everything into one list. <br />c.Fine Arts Show – There was a review of the tasks that need to be completed between <br /> <br />March and the show in May. Most of these are related to marketing and promotion of the <br />event. Trisha Gilmore has secured a judge. Tracy will be coordinating catering and <br />entertainment at the artist reception on May 11 th. <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
