<br />7.New Business <br /> <br />a.Arts Commission vacancy – Tracy confirmed that Brian Kennedy resigned from the Arts <br /> <br />Commission on February 26, 2018 after serving 22 years. Commission members shared <br />ideas for community members that might be interested in applying for the open seat. It <br />was agreed that potential members would be encouraged to come to the April and May <br />meetings, with hopes recommending an appointment to the Mayor’s office by June 2018. <br /> <br />8.Sub-Committee Reports <br /> <br />Commission members reviewed the subcommittees that were decided upon at the February <br />2018 meeting (retreat 2/10/18) and indicated which committees they would like to participate <br />on for the year. <br />a.Visual Arts – Trisha, Sheila, Daniel <br /> <br />b.Performing Arts – Cynthia, Yuriko, Helen <br /> <br />c.Outreach – Alex, Helen <br /> <br /> <br />9.Other <br /> <br />a.Staff liaison Tracy Gallaway reviewed a funding support request from Tukwila Parks and <br /> <br />Recreation. The following items were approved: <br />Backyard Wildlife Festival – Teaching Artist ($400), Musician ($400) <br />River Run 5K – Musician ($300) <br />See You in the Park – Tukwila Rocks Teaching Artist/Supplies for 3 events ($600) <br />Peanut Butter & Jam – Face painter for 3 events ($450) <br />Touch A Truck - Face painter ($300), Musician ($700) <br />Family Fest – Teaching artist – School Year Intention Project ($400), Drum Circle ($450) <br /> Total approved spending: $4,000 <br />10.Agenda for next meeting: <br /> <br />a.2018 Fine Arts Show – final event details <br /> <br /> <br />Adjournment: At 6:27pm Daniel Humkey moved to close the meeting.
