<br /> <br /> <br />City of Tukwila <br /> <br />Planning Commission <br /> <br /> <br /> BOARD OF ARCHITECTUAL REVIEW(BAR) <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />Date: <br />March 2, 2017 <br />Time: <br />6:30 PM <br />Location: <br /> Council Chambers <br /> <br />Present: <br />Chair, Miguel Maestas; Vice Chair, Nhan Nguyen; Commissioners, Sharon Mann, Mike <br />Hansen, Louise Strander, Dennis Martinez and Brooke Alford <br /> <br />Staff: <br /> Minnie Dhaliwal, Planning Supervisor; Lindsay Brown, Assistant Planner and Wynetta <br />Bivens, Planning Commission Secretary <br /> <br />Commissioner Mann <br />, the 2016 Planning Commission Chair passed on the duties of Chairman to <br />Commissioner Maestas, for 2017. Commissioner Nguyen will take over the role of the 2017 Vice-Chair. <br /> <br />Chair Maestas <br /> called the public hearing to order. <br /> <br />Miscellaneous Agenda Item: <br /> <br />Mia Navarro <br />, Community Engagement Manger, introduced herself to the Commission, and provided <br />information on her roles with the City: She will be managing the community connectors contract, a program <br />with liaisons that provide ethnic groups in the community with information from the City and bring information <br />from the groups back to the City; she is a liaison between the City and the School District, one program she is <br />working on in this role, is developing a job share internship program; The Tukwila works program, this is a see, <br />click, fix application that allows residents to report problems in the community; Outreach for City events, for <br />example the Public Safety Plan event being held on March 18, 2017, for which Ms. Navarro provided the <br />Commission a flyer. In addition, she is helping with communications work in general for the City. Ms. Navarro <br />also provided some information on her background prior to her employment with the City. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mann <br /> commented she and Ms. Navarro worked together with the TIBAC group, and that Ms. <br />Navarro is a welcome access to the City. <br /> <br />AdoptionCommissioner Alford <br /> made a motion to adopt the October 27, 2016 minutes. <br />ofminutes: <br /> Commissioner Strander seconded the motion. Five were in favor. Commissioner Mann <br />made the original motion to adopt the October 27, 2016 minutes but was not present at the <br />meeting and had to abstain her motion. Commissioner Maestas abstained from voting to <br />approve the minutes due to his absence at the October 27, 2017 meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mann <br /> made a motion to adopt the November 10, 2016 minutes. <br />Commissioner Strander made a motion to seconded the motion.
