<br />City of Tukwila <br />Planning Commission <br /> <br /> <br />BOARD OF ARCHITECTUAL REVIEW(BAR) <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />Date: July 26, 2018 <br />Time: 6:30 PM <br />Location: Council Chambers <br /> <br />Present: Chair, Nhan Nguyen; Vice Chair, Dennis Martinez; Commissioners, Louise <br />Strander and Mike Hansen <br /> <br />Absent: Commissioners Sharon Mann, Miguel Maestas, and Heidi Watters <br /> <br /> Staff: Minnie Dhaliwal, Planning Supervisor; Lindsay Brown, Assistant Planner, and <br />Wynetta Bivens, Planning Commission Secretary <br /> <br />Chair Nguyen called the public hearing to order at 6:30 PM. <br /> <br />Adopt Commissioner Nguyen requested the 06/28/18 minutes be amended to change the <br />Minutes: word on page three, last sentence of his comments. He also read <br />some additional language he requested be added to the minutes. Upon review of the <br />06/28/18 recording the language added to the minutes reflect his comments from <br />the recording. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hanse n moved to approve the minutes as amended. <br /> Commissioner Martinez seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Chair Nguyen swore in those wishing to provide testimony and opened the public hearing. <br /> <br />Staff asked the Commissioners the appearance of fairness questions. There were no disclosures, <br />and no objections to the Commissioners hearing the case. <br /> <br />Lindsay Brown, Assistant Planner, Department of Community Development gave the <br />presentation for staff. She provided background info of the neighborhood and site; and gave a <br />summary of the Tukwila Urban Center standards and guidelines that applied for the project. She <br />also explained how the proposal meets the guidelines. She went over proposed <br />alternative diagrams and renderings for consideration, which were submitted immediately prior to <br />the public hearing. <br /> <br />As noted in the July 16, 2018 staff report the applicant did not submit information for the <br />following, lighting; sidewalk grades; stamped concrete pattern, integrated benches, weather <br />protection, waste receptacles; and mechanical equipment screening. <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of the project with 10 conditions as noted in the July 16, 2018 staff report. <br /> <br />Dale Sweeney, Architect and applicant addressed questions for the Commission. <br />ɎɎɎ <br />3 <br /> <br />
