Linton, Chief <br />COPCAB Minutes <br />April 12, 2018 <br />6:30pm-8:00pm <br />Members Present: Jerry Thornton, Kim Karns, Roger Arnold, Jan Bolerjack, Jun Castillo <br />Staff Present: Chris Partman, Chief Linton, Mia Navarro <br />Guest: Liliana Cardenas <br />• Minutes for 3/8/18 meeting approved <br />• Strategic Plan Update — Mia Navarro <br />• Checking back on the Strategic Plan Goals as the 2019/20 budget is in line with <br />those goals. <br />• Budgets will be according to priorities so that the City knows how <br />much is being spent on each goal. <br />• Will send out information with link to online survey via email <br />• Dinner May 3rd at Thorndyke Elem at 6pm to discuss results and get <br />feedback <br />• Chief's update: <br />• Community Engagement Strategies for TPD <br />• Initially engaged with Sgts. and Command Staff <br />The idea is for all officers to be engaging in community policing <br />Initially the Community Police Team took the lead on this <br />Putting together teams within the department to engage the <br />communities within each district <br />1. Each team is a CPT member, patrol officers and a detectives or <br />other PD staff person <br />2. The team listens to the community to get a handle on what their <br />ncerns are. <br />• Going forward, the Chief will keep COPCAB updated on progress toward the <br />goals. <br />• Upcoming meetings with Villages at South Station, Mall, businesses south of <br />the mall and the Tukwila School District. <br />• Questions: <br />• Will residents know who is in their district once it is determined. <br />• New Anthony is working with Tukwila to fill in the PD and <br />Tukwila City Hall • 6200 Southcenter Boulevard • Tukwila, WA 98188 • 206-433-1800 • Website: TukwilaWA.gov <br />
