TUKWILA ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />October 23, 2019 6:00 p.m. Tukwila Community Center/Executive Conference Room <br />1. Call to Order, Roll Call & Introduction of Guests: Chair Cynthia Chesak called the meeting to order at <br />6:01pm. <br />Attendance: <br />Commission Members Present: Cynthia Chesak, Pinky Estell, Sheila Coppola, Trisha Gilmore, Helen <br />Enguerra, Jaleh Sadravi <br />Commission Members Absent: Dylan Mahler <br />Staff: Tracy Gallaway, TAC Liaison <br />Guests: None <br />2. Approval of Agenda: Helen Enguerra moved to accept the agenda. Pinky Estell seconded the motion. The <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />3. Approval of Minutes: Pinky Estell moved to accept the minutes for 8.28.19 Trisha Gilmore seconded the <br />motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />4. Unfinished Business: <br />a. PAC Assessment & Next Steps — Pinky Estell has prepared a list of stakeholders and will be completing <br />the assessment this fall. <br />b. Rotating Art Display Wall —The next artist on display will be Lily Hotchkiss, for November and December. <br />c. Fall Arts Activities/National Arts & Humanities Month — several activities have been planned for this fall. <br />Some of the planned Silver Kite Arts workshops have been canceled due to lack of interest. <br />d. Updates for Artist in Residence & Southcenter District Art Project (LTAC Funded) <br />i. Artist in Residence Program <br />1. AiR River Artist Sarah Kavage: Sarah has been away at another project site but will be returning <br />in early November. <br />2. AiR TIB Artist Olisa Enrico -Johnson has two active projects: TIB Mural Project and Stories of <br />Arrival (recording project). The mural project will be continuing through the month of October <br />and the Stories of Arrival recording project will wrap up by the end of the year. <br />3. Both artists, Olisa Enrico -Johnson and Sarah Kavage, will be wrapping up their residencies with <br />the City of Tukwila in the coming months. The artists will be preparing a final report that will be <br />ready for review at the November Arts Commission retreat. <br />ii.
