ao <br />City -;f Tuk ila <br />Public Works Department - Hari Ponnekanti, Director/City Engineer <br />Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Transportation and Infrastructure Services Committee <br />FROM: Hari Ponnekanti, Public Works Director <br />BY: Adib Altallal, Utilities Engineer <br />CC: Mayor Allan Ekberg <br />DATE: February 19, 2021 <br />SUBJECT: King County Metropolitan Water Pollution Abatement Advisory Committee <br />Resolution Assigning Staff Representation <br />ISSUE <br />Designate Adib Altallal as the City's representative to the Metropolitan Water Pollution Abatement <br />Advisory Committee (MWPAAC) and designate Bryan Still as the alternate. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The King County Metropolitan Water Pollution Abatement Advisory Committee was created by State <br />law to advise the County on matters related to water pollution abatement issues. It consists of <br />representatives from 36 different cities and local sewer utilities that operate sewer systems within the <br />King County service area. Subcommittees include engineering and planning, rates and finance, and <br />sewage disposal. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The attached Resolution will update the City of Tukwila's staff representation at the regional MWPAAC <br />meetings and officially confirms the City's authorization for voting on issues. After Pat Brodin's <br />retirement, the position was left vacant. Adib Altallal is the City's Water/Sewer Engineer and Bryan Still <br />is the City's Utilities Operations Manager.
