PC Meeting <br />2/25/21 <br />Page 4 <br />MOTIONS: <br />Commissioner Strander moved to add a condition to Case Number L20-0138 Design Review, to read, <br />`plant material along the pathway for safe routes to school shall be reviewed by the Police Department for <br />conformance with crime prevention through environmental design principles.' Commissioner Martinez seconded <br />the motion. Motion passed. <br />Commissioner Mann moved to approve Case Number L20-0138, Design Review, based on staffs findings and <br />conclusions, as amended at the meeting tonight with the added condition. Commissioner Stark seconded the <br />motion. Motion passed. <br />Commissioner Mann moved to approve Case Number L20-0129, Subdivision Preliminary Plat, based on staffs <br />findings, conclusions, and conditions as listed in the staff report dated 2/25/21. Commissioner Stark seconded the <br />motion. Motion passed. <br />DIRECTOR'S REPORT: <br />Staff informed the PC that a discussion regarding the land acknowledgement statement took place with <br />Kari Sand, City Attorney to get legal opinion on whether there were any concerns reading the statement <br />at PC meetings due to land owned by the public. The City Attorney said there are no legal concerns. <br />Staff said City Council recommended reading the land acknowledgement statement, but it is not a <br />mandate. Commissioner Mann asked if City Council had decided not to read the statement prior to their <br />meetings. Staff said to their knowledge City Council are reading the statement.
