understand costs and to control cost as it moves through the design and preconstruction <br />process. <br />• The Review Board was very complimentary of the City's application, specifically the qualified <br />team the City had assembled; the commitment to meeting DBE, apprenticeship, and local hiring <br />goals; and the City's utilization of the PMQA for the project and the reporting structure the <br />PMQA has directly with the City Council. <br />• The Review Board also remarked that utilization of the alternative selection process for the <br />earthwork subcontractor was an innovative way to better manage costs for the project that will <br />have a significant amount of earth moving associated with it. <br />Permitting <br />• Project team and environmental consultant team met with Public Works and Department of <br />Community Development (DCD) to understand the administrative approval process for the <br />proposed bioswales for stormwater management for the project. <br />• Upcoming meeting in August with DCD to understand permitting requirements and process for <br />the project. <br />Reports <br />• Geotechnical borings have been drilled to prepare the project's geotechnical report for the <br />project. <br />• Hazardous Material assessment (on the existing structure) work has started. <br />Project Partners <br />• Project staff met with King County Parks and Natural Resources to discuss an interim project to <br />relocate stormwater draining from the Fleet and Facilities site onto the Chinook Wind property. <br />King County has offered to design and construct an interim conveyance system. <br />• Public Works and project staff met with King County Metro to discuss partnership regarding a <br />joint decant and solid's facility. King County Metro will lose access to its solid's facility in north <br />Tukwila sometime in 2024.
