ES for Service Year 2013 is calculated as follows: <br />If, as of the effective date of this Agreement, the City has entered into a contract for shelter <br />services with the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in Lynnwood, WA, then, for <br />so long as such contract remains in effect, the City will not pay a share of shelter costs <br />associated with shelter usage ("A" as defined below) and instead the Estimated Payment <br />will include a population -based charge only, reflecting the regional shelter benefits <br />nonetheless received by such City, calculated as follows (the components of this <br />calculation are defined as described below). <br />ES = (S x.2 x Pop) <br />If the City does not qualify for the population -based shelter charge only, ES is determined <br />as follows: <br />ES = (S x .2 x Pop) + (S x .8 x A) <br />Where: <br />"S" is the Budgeted Net Allocable Shelter Services Cost for the Service Year, which equals <br />the County's Budgeted Total Allocable Costs for Shelter Services less Budgeted Total Non - <br />Licensing Revenue attributable to Shelter operations (i.e., adoption fees, microchip fees, <br />impound fees, owner -surrender fees, from all Contracting Parties) and less 27% of <br />Estimated New Regional Revenues (ENR) in the Service Year. For purposes of <br />determining the Pre -Commitment Estimated Payments for 2013, the Budgeted Net <br />Allocable Shelter Services Cost is $2,707,453, calculated as shown on Exhibit C-3, and shall <br />be similarly derived to determine the Preliminary and Final Estimated Payments for 2013 <br />and for Service Year 2016 if the Agreement is extended beyond December 31, 2015. <br />"Pop" is the population of the City expressed as a percentage of the Population of all <br />Contracting Parties. <br />"A" is the total number of animals that were: (1) picked up by County Animal Control <br />Officers from within the City, (2) delivered by a City resident to the County shelter, or (3) <br />delivered to the shelter that are owned by a resident of the City expressed as a percentage of <br />the total number of animals in the County Shelter during the Calculation Period. For <br />purposes of the 2013 Estimated Payment, the Calculation Period for "A" is calendar year <br />2011. Exhibit C-2 shows a preliminary estimate of "A" for 2011 used to determine the Pre - <br />Commitment Estimated 2013 Payments; the numbers in this exhibit are subject to <br />Reconciliation by June 30, 2012. <br />Document Dated 5-29-12 <br />35 <br />
