13 -059 <br />Council Approval 2/4/13 <br />AMENDED AND RESTATED SOLID WASTE <br />INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT <br />This Amended and Restated Solid Waste Interlocal Agreement ( "Agreement ") is entered <br />into between King County, a political subdivision of the State of Washington and the City of <br />Tukwila, a municipal corporation of the State of Washington, hereinafter referred to as "County" <br />and "City" respectively. Collectively, the County and the City are referred to as the "Parties." <br />This Agreement has been authorized by the legislative body of each jurisdiction pursuant to <br />formal action as designated below: <br />King County: Ordinance No. \ 1(e%1 j <br />City: Approved by Tukwila City Council Motion on February 4, 2013 <br />PREAMBLE <br />A. This Agreement is entered into pursuant to chapter 39.34 RCW for the purpose of <br />extending, restating and amending the Solid Waste Interlocal Agreement between the <br />Parties originally entered into in September 6, 1988 (the "Original Agreement "). The <br />Original Agreement provided for the cooperative management of Solid Waste in King <br />County for a term of forty (40) years, through June 30, 2028. The Original Agreement is <br />superseded by this Amended and Restated Agreement, as of the effective date of this <br />Agreement. This Amended and Restated Agreement is effective for an additional twelve <br />(12) years through December 31, 2040. <br />B. The Parties intend to continue to cooperatively manage Solid Waste and to work <br />collaboratively to maintain and periodically update the existing King County <br />- 1 - <br />
