down to one (1) supervisor and five (5) officers on each on - <br />duty patrol squad. <br />With regard to "unusual occurrences", where practical, the Chief shall <br />provide these dates prior to the twice per year vacation bid. The <br />holidays specified herein are the Day after Christmas, the Day after <br />Thanksgiving, the 4th of July and New Year's Eve. The significant <br />events referenced herein are those events on any given day that may <br />reasonably be expected to threaten public safety if staffing levels are <br />not increased as determined by the Chief or his/her designee. <br />SECTION 4.3 Overtime. Except as otherwise provided in this Article: <br />A. Overtime Pay. <br />All Sergeants other than Patrol Sergeants shall be paid at the rate of <br />time and one-half his/her regular rate of pay for the first three (3) <br />hours in excess of their regularly assigned schedule and beginning <br />the fourth (4th) hour at the rate of two (2) times his/her regular pay <br />rate in one day. <br />B. Patrol Sergeants shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half his/her <br />regular rate of pay for all hours in excess of their regularly assigned <br />schedule up to the 14th hour, and beginning with the 14th hour at the <br />rate of two (2) times his/her regular pay rate in one day. However, <br />employees who are granted the Rest Period provision in Section <br />4.4D1 or 4.9B will be compensated at the rate of time and one-half, <br />and not at the double time rate for hours worked for attending court <br />or mandatory training. <br />C. Callback Authorization. <br />Sergeants are not allowed to activate themselves for administrative <br />duties or law enforcement duties without prior pre -authorization from <br />command staff.
