ARTICLE 14 - MEDICAL COVERAGE <br />SECTION 14.1 Medical Insurance <br />A. Employer contributions. Except as otherwise provided in this Article, <br />the Employer shall contribute the premiums necessary to purchase <br />medical care insurance for each full-time employee and his/her <br />dependents under the City of Tukwila's Self -Insured Medical Plan. <br />Such coverage shall not be less than that which existed under the City <br />of Tukwila Self -Insured Medical Plan in place February 1, 2004, except <br />as subsequently agreed herein by the parties. <br />B. Kaiser Permanente. For employees who elect medical coverage <br />through Kaiser Permanente, the Employer shall pay up to the <br />maximum dollar amount contribution of the Self -Insured Plan for full - <br />family coverage. Any premium amounts in excess of the Employer's <br />contribution shall be paid by the individual through payroll deduction. <br />Coverage under the Kaiser-Permanente Plan shall be as determined <br />by Kaiser Permanente. <br />C. Cost of premiums. The Employer shall continue to pay the full <br />premium for medical coverage under the Self -Insured Medical Plan, <br />up to a maximum increase of eight percent (8%) in a year. In the <br />event the monthly premiums increase more than the stated amount <br />in a year, the Employer or the Association has the right to reopen the <br />Agreement to negotiate changes in the Self -Insured Medical Plan <br />benefits, so that the increase in premium costs does not exceed the <br />stated amount. <br />SECTION 14.2 Dental. Dental coverage will be maintained for all employees <br />and their dependents during the term of this Agreement under the City of <br />Tukwila Self -Insured Dental Plan, or its replacement. + <br />The cost for such plan will be borne on the following basis: The Employer will <br />contribute one hundred percent (100%) of the total premium for this coverage. <br />30 <br />204 <br />
